Attributes influencing guests’ experiences: a comparison of nonprofit and for-profit peer-to-peer accommodation platforms
Berta Ferrer-Rosell, PhD
I am Serra Hunter Associate Professor (Professora Agregada Serra Hunter) at the University of Lleida (Catalonia, Spain). I got a Bachelor’s in Tourism, a Master’s in Tourism Management. Afterwards, I achieved my international Ph.D in Tourism from University of Girona and University of Balearic Islands (Excellent Cum Laude and Extraordinary Award).
Since I defended my thesis I consider myself as compositional data analysis (CoDa) user, and I apply the methodology to the field of tourism marketing, and electronic tourism marketing. I was the first worldwide researcher in applying CoDa to the tourism field, to analyse trip budget composition of tourists who arrived to Spain by air. I am passionate for tourism and data analysis.
I teach at undergraduate and graduate levels, and I want my students to think critically and to be creative, in both marketing (and research methods) and tourism (eTourism).
I am an active board member at the Spanish Association of Scientific Experts in Tourism (AECIT), and the CoDa-Association, and I'm also member of Journals' editorial committees for JTA, EJTR, JITT and CBTH.
Since February 2023 I serve as vicedean of international relations at the Faculty of Law, Economics & Tourism.
